"6 Then He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. 7 He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son." (Revelation 21:6-7 NASB)
Many people believe that in this verse, Jesus (the Alpha and the Omega) is calling himself "God". Evidently, as in Revelation 1:8, God the Father is speaking here; not Jesus. We as Christians are "sons of God" (1 John 3:1), not sons of Jesus. In fact, we are co-heirs with Jesus (Rom. 8:17), and we both have the same God and Father (John 20:17).
For our view on the titles "the First and the last", "the Alpha and Omega", and "the Beginning and the End" being applied to Jesus elsewhere, see our article on Revelation 22:13.
